SIBLINGS CRUSHED IN HORROR ROAD SMASH: Hilux driver loses control and ploughs into pedestrians

TRAGEDY struck in Gwanda when two siblings were killed on the spot after being mowed down by a speeding vehicle along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road on Sunday morning.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson, Inspector Chiratidzo Dube, confirmed the horrific crash which happened at the 101km peg.

The deceased were identified as Talent Ndlovu (24) and his younger sibling Methembekile Zitha (17), both from Sizanani Village.
“Caetano Ncube was driving a white Toyota Hilux heading towards Beitbridge when he lost control of the vehicle. It veered off the road and ploughed into the two pedestrians who were standing by the roadside before ramming into a tree and overturning,” said Insp Dube.

The siblings died instantly while Ncube sustained a shoulder injury and was rushed to Gwanda Provincial Hospital.

Their bodies were taken to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem as police launched investigations into the cause of the crash.
