Significant progress made in preparation for National Youth Day celebrations

Significant progress has been made in preparations for the National Youth Day celebrations to be held at Igava Business Centre in Marondera.

A high-level delegation led by Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Minister, Tinoda Machakaire, today visited the site to assess progress.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress made to date.

“We are here to assess progress at the site. There is going to be a Youth Day celebration, and a lot of preparations are being made,” he said.

“Our contractor is doing a great job here, especially on the construction of the Igava Vocational Training Centre as well as the Youth Training Centre, which will be one of its kind and the biggest in the country.

“We want to thank President Mnangagwa for creating platforms where youths can be trained and equipped with life-changing skills.”

He said youths must attend the event and meet the President, so that they can be aware of all that is happening in their country.

Minister Machakaire thanked everyone who is working on the preparations to ensure the day is a success.

The National Youth Day is an annual event which is celebrated on February 21.
