after the July 31 national elections. Addressing a press conference in Harare, Mr Sikhala announced that the MDC99 would boycott the polls.
“We are working with other political parties to form a united revolutionary force after July 31. When we are saying a revolution, do not rule out confrontation. We are young and energetic. We are really determined.
This is not an empty threat. We are now talking about serious business to liberate our country,” Mr Sikhala said.
He took a swipe at the MDC-T for demanding reforms now saying such should have be done during the life of the inclusive Government.
Mr Sikhala accused the MDC-T of concentrating on wealth accumulation and trivia during the life of the inclusive Government only to demand reforms now when the country is facing a crucial election.
He said the MDC formations must reap what they sow during their tenure in the inclusive Government.
Mr Sikhala said the MDC99 and other political players demanded reforms during the early days of the inclusive Government but were rebutted by not only Zanu-PF but the MDC formations as well.
“We expected reforms to take place during the lifespan of the inclusive Government,” he said.
The country is going for elections on July 31 following a proclamation to that effect by President Mugabe this week.
The proclamation followed a Supreme Court ruling last month ordering President Mugabe to announce the election date not later than July 31 has since complied with the order.
