BULAWAYO socialite and comedian Babongile Sikhonjwa says he has bought a limousine worth $30,000 to use with his friends and family during the festive season. The all white limousine Lincoln Town car has been moving around the city for the past two weeks. Sikhonjwa, his trusted sidekick Clive Chigubu, hip hop artiste Cal_Vin and his girlfriend Pearl, visited The Chronicle offices on Friday.

The excited comedian said the limo was an import from America. “My driver and I went to Harare to get the car two weeks ago. We drove all the way from there. We spent a day in Harare before travelling to Bulawayo. Along the way we gave some people a free lift in the car,” said Sikhonjwa.

He said owning a limo was a dream come true for him and he would cherish the day forever. “The limousine is for me to enjoy myself. Imagine if you woke up in the morning and you’d a choice to drive a limo or a Vitz to work? Obviously you’d drive the limo,” said Sikhonjwa.

He said in order to enjoy an unhindered festive season, he had hired a driver who would ferry him and his family and friends around the city and country. “A driver has been hired to ferry us around during the festive season. Friends and family will have a chance to ride the limo with me,” said Sikhonjwa.

He said the limo would also be hired out to make money. “The limo isn’t only going to be used for driving around and merry making. “I want to turn it into a business venture where I’ll be hiring it out to people for their parties and weddings for a fee. That’s the main reason I bought the limo,” said Sikhonjwa.

Inside the limo, there are leather seats and it holds 12 people, while entertainment is provided by a television. There is also space for a bar.
