Simba Bhora Football Club has paid tribute to their security officer, Ben Phiri, who was buried on Wednesday in Bindura.
Phiri passed away in Shamva on Monday after diabetic complications, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to the club. Club president Simba Ndoro and secretary-general Taurai Janhi were present at the burial.
“The Simba Bhora FC family is deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Ben Phiri. He was a loyal and dedicated member of our team, having been with us from the start and was always putting the safety and well-being of others before his own.”
The club provided support to the family during its difficult time and assumed all the financial responsibilities.
“We are grateful for the support we have received from Simba Bhora FC. It is a testament to the bond that Ben shared with the club and its members,” said a family member.
Phiri will be remembered for his tireless efforts to ensure the safety and security of the club’s players, staff, and supporters.
“Rest in peace, Ben. Your memory will live on in our hearts and through the Simba Bhora FC spirit,” said Simba Bhora secretary-general Janhi.
Simba Bhora FC has announced plans to hold a memorial service to celebrate Phiri’s life and legacy. Details will be announced in due course. Phiri is survived by a wife and three children.
