SIMBA BHORA executive chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa has revealed that they have given their coaches the green light to identify players that they want ahead of the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

Simba Bhora, who are under the guidance of ex Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars gaffer, Tonderai Ndiraya are said to have already sealed deals with former Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona, Bulawayo Chiefs’ Billy Vheremu and Dynamos’ Bulawayo bred Junior Makunike.

“All those are rumours. We are yet to conclude any deals. We have given our coaches the green light to identify players whom they want which is normal in this industry. The season concluded a few weeks ago and our coaches are about to settle for the players that they want and we get to approach their respective clubs. We cannot name or identify some of the players that we want. We have to be professional, start proper negotiations. However, some negotiations have started and we hope to conclude the deals early next year,” Mupfurutsa.

His remarks come at a time when the social media has also been awash that the free spending miners, who are set to enjoy that second Premier Soccer League (PSL) dance next year, are also angling in for the signatures of DeMbare goalie Tymon Mvula and seasoned Gift Saunyama.

Zimpapers Sports Hub has it on good authority that a number of PSL clubs that include FC Platinum, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Chicken Inn have already started negotiations with their targets while other deals have reportedly been concluded.

Bosso’s rock solid defender Mbongeni “Mbola” has already joined FC Platinum amid revelation that Ngezi Platinum Stars are courting the Warriors duo of Peter Muduhwa and Andrew “Tower” Mbeba. Andrew Tandi, pint sized Ray Lunga and seasoned Rahman Kutsanzira are reportedly some of the players that the Bulawayo giants are making frantic efforts to tie down.

Word has it that Gamecocks have settled to rope in Bulawayo Chiefs enterprising midfielder Mthokozisi Msebe, Hwange captain Kelly Shiyandindi and striker Brighton Makopa.

The 2015 league champions are set to have veteran gaffer Joey “Mafero” Antipas bounce back to their technical bench come 2024. The club has reportedly decided to part ways with Prince Matore and Farai Tawarechera.

Gamecocks had an indifferent 2023 season posting 11 wins, 16 draws and seven defeats in the process managing to collect 49 points, 17 behind PSL champions Ngezi Platinum Stars. -@FungaiMuderere
