Tadious Manyepo in CHINHOYI
Chinhoyi Stars……………….. (1) 1
Simba Bhora…………………. (1) 2
ISHMAEL NYANI scored late in the game to help Northern Region Division One Soccer League title aspirants Simba Bhora claim maximum points at Chinhoyi Stadium yesterday.
Former Dynamos midfielder Barnabas Mushunje had given the Shamva team the lead 10 minutes into the game.
But once Jannel Mutimuzunje drew level seven minutes later, the match became a see-saw affair, with both teams failing to create clear-cut opportunities.
The visitors’ coach, Arthur Tutani, had to dig deep as the game was drawing to a close and introduced the industrious Stephen Matsangaise to add grit in the midfield.
No sooner had the former Lengthens and CAPS United man been on the pitch than the hosts’ defence made a costly blunder under incessant pressure, and Nyani made sure the visitors stole victory.
Simba Bhora took their tally to 21, but they remain three points behind leaders Herentals Under-20, who kept their unbeaten start intact with 1-0 triumph over Banket at the National Sports Stadium’s B Arena.
Tutani’s men also remain a point behind Golden Eagles, who scrapped a 1-0 win away to Cam and Motor at Chakari Stadium.
Seasoned gaffer Tutani was full of praise for his charges.
“We have mainly been winning at home but it’s good to also win away from home. Winning away from home has been very difficult for us and once we start doing this consistently, then we are in a good place,” he said.
His opposite number and former Dynamos winger Pearson Matare said his team will continue working as they lack experience.
