Sing a song of victory

Pauline Matanda

“SING a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; His holy arm has shown His saving power! The Lord has announced His victory and has revealed His righteousness to every nation!” — Psalms 98: 1-2.

This psalm celebrates God’s amazing work and goodness, whilst encouraging us to sing praises to Him for all He has done.

It is a call to praise and worship the Creator for His mighty acts and the manifestation of His salvation to the world.

The psalmist urges the entire earth to acknowledge and celebrate the victory and righteousness of God. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.

We are reminded that we should be grateful for all the things that the Man above has blessed us with.

No matter what we are going through, we can always find something to praise God for.

The gospel is an announcement of the victory of Jesus Christ on our behalf.

Upon Mount Zion, there was deliverance for mankind.

Now, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, our victory and deliverance are proclaimed.

Thank God for the triumph.

Your enemy — the devil — has been eternally defeated.

Sing a song of thanksgiving to the Lord as you celebrate your victory.

In union with Christ, you are moving from victory to victory, from success to success and from glory to glory.

1 Corinthians 15:57, which reads: “Now, thanks be to God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”, sums it all up.
