SINGER Leomile Motsetsela belives in self-love.
The musician, affectionately known as Leomile, wants people to know their worth and choose themselves above all else.
She spoke to Daily Sun about the importance of self-love and how she sings about it in her latest single.
The 32-year-old, who is originally from Lesotho and now Joburg-based, said people need to walk away from people or environments that don’t nurture them.
The soulful singer-songwriter and composer is known for her song Lerato le fedile.
She told Daily Sun she wants to remind Mzansi of their importance through her song, Nevermind.
The song sums up the sentiment of the EP, which is to walk away from toxic relationships or environments and realise that the situations you want to keep alive are actually not serving you. It’s a blessing in disguise that you get to walk away from them,” Leomile said.
She said bad situations bring out the best in a person.
“This is also to thank the situation for showing you how you see yourself. Now, you have a chance to start again, show yourself love, and continue nurturing parts of yourself that you were not nurturing.
“A long luxurious bath or cooking for myself makes me feel accomplished, and in the end, I really like myself,” she said.
Leomile describes self-love as foundational.
“I’ve been in situations where people took advantage of how I see myself. You’d be fortunate to find people who still want to uplift you, even in times when you’re not seeing yourself clearly,” she said – Daily Sun.
