Singer to drop Amasungura project

Musician, Shingirai ‘Tanto Wavie’ Makaza is set to release his second edition of his unique blend of sungura and amapiano, a genre he affectionately calls ‘Amasungura’.

In an interview with H-Metro The 26year-old Chitungwiza, based says his new project to push boundaries of what people think.

“Amasungura 2 consists of six songs namely, Chigumbu, Zvatanga, Wanikwe Jesu, Vanhu vaye featuring Takura and Dhe Dhe Dhe.

“It is set to push the boundaries of what people think is impossible with this genre.

“I enjoyed making beats for all my songs and if the prices are worth it I am willing to sell some beats to some artists so we push the amasungura sound.”

Tanto rapidly gained a following when he released his first amasungura sound.

“I already have a good following in Zimbabwe so my current focus is to bring other countries on board”, he added.

Zimbabwe. He grew up in the mean streets of Zengeza, attending his primary and secondary school in the satellite town of Chitungwiza.
