ECONOMIC activities and several exchange programmes between China and Zimbabwe have not only strengthened trade and investment cooperation, but also fostered people-to-people exchanges, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding has said.

Speaking after paying a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira in Harare yesterday, Ambassador Zhou said he was delighted at the progress, highlighting the numerous events organised to celebrate the enduring partnership between China and Zimbabwe.

“These activities have not only strengthened trade and investment co-operation but have also fostered people-to-people exchanges,” he said.

“Various cultural and educational initiatives have further enhanced the ties between the two nations.

“Harmonising our two national development blueprints, China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 2 (NDS-2), will bolster the bilateral relationship, ensuring mutual benefits for both countries and their citizens”.
