SIRDC wins trophy

of Zimbabwe from February 15 to 18 2011 and won a trophy for an outstanding exhibition in the research organisations category.
The expo was organised by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education.
The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Dr Stan Mudenge – who conceived the idea of the expo – presented the awards to the winning participants.
The theme of this first edition of the expo was “Leadership in Research and Intellectual Excellence in Zimbabwe: Past, Present and Future”.
The expo was an initiative to showcase research outputs and intellectual prowess by Zimbabweans as well as to harness and channel knowledge and wisdom towards the achievement of the country’s developmental goals.
Parallel to the exhibition were presentations of papers on various themes. Sirdc Chief Executive Officer Dr Robson Mafoti presented a keynote paper on “Innovation, Creativity and Development” during one of the plenary sessions.
