Siwela declared liberation war heroine

WAR veteran Cde Pheliso Siwela who died on Monday at a Bulawayo hospital has been declared a liberation war heroine.
Born in 1959 in Tsholotsho, Siwela crossed to Zambia to join the liberation struggle and after training she operated in Gweru.
She was demobilised in 1980.
The Bulawayo war veterans’ deputy social welfare provincial secretary Cde Clemence Moyo said Siwela was a kind woman who worked well with others.

“We’ve lost a hardworking and kind colleague. We worked well together and didn’t have any problems with her,” said Cde Moyo.
Siwela is survived by five children and two grandchildren.

She will be buried today at Bulawayo Provincial Heroes Acre in Nkulumane.
Mourners are gathered at 64630/19 Tshabalala, Bulawayo.
