the show opened two weeks ago while the remaining 14 contestants will be up for a pleasant surprise courtesy of sponsors.
Rumbi Matinanga, the spokesperson of the reality show, confirmed that six contestants would be sent home this weekend.
“There is an impeding eviction show this weekend and it will be exciting to see who survives. As the production team we were impressed by all the contestants unfortunately we have to say goodbye to the six,” she said.
The real business starts with the 14 contestants who will move into the My Own Boss house. However, each week contestants are given real business tasks and within 48 hours to a week the task is completed.
A review of the task with prominent business executives is done in the boardroom.
In the boardroom, a losing team will have one or more contestants eliminated from the show. Judging criteria is based on task profitability, leadership skills, communication, innovation and exploration of new opportunities.
The upcoming season four of the business reality show has been dubbed “Buy Zimbabwe Edition” and it seeks to identify, nurture, educate and expose raw talent for youths between the ages 18 and 35.
Whoever wins on the reality show will walk away with US$25 000 as seed money for their business. The show will be screened on ZBC TV on as well as on free-to-air Africa Unite satellite channel for a period of 13 weeks.
The Buy Zimbabwe edition seeks create pride, wealth and jobs in Zimbabwe by encouraging consumption of quality local products and services.
While a lot is known about the Buy Zimbabwe campaign many have forgotten that this successful initiative was the brainchild of Zimbabwe’s young entrepreneurs in their participation in 2010 edition of My Own Boss.
