THE newly appointed Zanu-PF spokesperson and Minister of Economic Planning, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, has congratulated Vice Presidents Cdes Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko on their new appointments.
The two VPs filled vacancies left by fired former VP Joice Mujuru and the late VP John Landa Nkomo.
They were on Friday sworn in, together with seven ministers and one deputy minister, by President Mugabe.
“I wish to congratulate the two VPs for their appointments and wish them well in their tasks ahead. These appointments are the President’s prerogative,” said Cde Khaya Moyo, who is the former Senior Minister of State in the Office of the President and Cabinet, in an interview last night.
On his new portfolio, Cde Khaya Moyo said he was prepared for the challenges ahead.
“I want to say this is a massive portfolio and its challenges are vast.
“When we talk about a country and its people, we’re talking about the economy.
“I’ll of course consult the President on matters concerning this subject,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.
