THE Zanu-PF National Chairman, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, has warned party supporters against playing into the hands of members of MDC formations, saying they were in the habit of provoking people. Addressing well attended rallies in Ngwanyana and Izimnyama areas in Mangwe district yesterday, Cde Khaya Moyo said the MDC formations were so desperate for support that they were now forcing people to attend their meetings.
On arrival at Izimnyama Business Centre, Cde Khaya Moyo was greeted by with wild cheers and revolutionary songs by party supporters.
“As the elections are approaching the MDC formations are now sensing defeat that is why they are coercing people to attend their rallies.
The MDC-T is going through what I will describe as the “last supper” in biblical references.
“Therefore be careful because as desperate as they are to garner support they may even provoke you or threaten you. However, remain calm and composed you will retaliate on the election day when you cast your vote in favour of the revolutionary party,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo who was holding his last rally in the district praised the people for their commitment to safeguarding their resources.
“Today is my last day in Mangwe as I am moving to Bulilima but before that I will visit Umzingwane district. I would like to commend you for your overwhelming response when you were informed of these meetings.
“I have been addressing meetings in Mangwe and I am pleased by your attendance especially here in Izimnyama area. Your turnout is a sign that you are prepared to protect and safeguard the gains of the liberation struggle which is commendable,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.
He urged people to be resourceful in order to develop communities and the entire nation.
“Let us be productive as a nation because we all have an input towards developing our country. Resources are at your disposal and they will remain in your hands therefore you need to utilise them. “The first step towards developing your nation begins on 31 July when you vote for the liberation party so that no one diverts your resources,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo’s wife, Mrs Margaret Moyo who was also present at the rallies donated blankets and toiletries to elderly people in Ngwanyana and Izimnyama areas.
She also donated sporting equipment.
Cde Khaya Moyo has successfully conducted his rallies in Mangwe, his home district.
Addressing other rallies in Ngwizi and Tshitshi Business Centres on Tuesday, Cde Khaya Moyo described this year’s election as an opportunity for the electorate to correct the mistake it made in 2008 when they voted for MDC formations, which he said had brought suffering and sanctions.
