“My life has been difficult since last year when I lost a lot of money recording this album which was then pirated,” he said.
Skuza said he composed a different set of songs for the album as the first songs had been pre-empted Izangomnyama wezulu.
“Piracy is really killing us as musicians and this is slowly forcing us to stop recording and concentrate on live shows,” he said.
Skuza said songs that are on his latest album are Kozekubenini, Badlangathi, Inkunzemnyama, Imihlolentoli, Zonkewonke and Ubabamhlatshwa.
“All these songs have a meaning to our daily lives as musicians and people in general.
“Badlangathi is a song that I wrote criticising pirates who are killing the music industry by stealing artistes’ works,” he said.
Skuza said it was sad to note that pirates were even making a killing out of Tongai Moyo’s funeral, after reports that some people were selling a recording of the late artiste’s funeral.
“From the time I released my album, I take time to move around the streets checking on these selling pirated discs,” he said.
It is not only Skuza who has been a victim of pirates as Alick Macheso’s album Tafadzwa was stolen and sold.
Meanwhile, Skuza said more live shows were coming and fans should look forward to hear new songs from his latest album.
“Already, we are in 2012 so fans should expect more shows coming their way and they should support us,” he said.
