Skyz FM’s Moyo joins Zec

PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe has appointed two commissioners to fill vacant positions in the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec). Emmanuel Magade, the Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Zimbabwe and Qhubani Moyo, the CEO of Skyz FM and Breeze FM which are set to begin broadcasting in September, will take up their positions in the elections body chaired by Justice Rita Makarau.

President Mugabe also announced members of the Zimbabwe Gender Commission which will be chaired by veteran civil servant, Margaret Sangarwe-Mukahanana.

Nyepudzai Nyangulu, Sibongile Chambakale Mauye, Tsungirirai Kundai Hungwe-Chimbunde, Naomi Chimbetete, Obert Matshalaga, Victor Nkiwane and Paul Kadzima are the other commissioners.

Sangarwe-Mukahanana, 55, is a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and held various positions in the government.

Mauye, 50, is a development consultant while Nyangulu, who is a training manager at Steward Bank and is a former chief executive officer of the National Investment Trust.

Hungwe-Chimbunde, 72, trained as a nurse and midwife who worked at Mpilo Maternity Hospital and as Senior Sister at Harare City Health Department.

Chimbetete, 49, is a former Executive Director of the Zimbabwe Women Resource Centre Network.

Matshalaga, 63, is a former MP for Zvishavane-Ngezi and also served in the government as Deputy Minister first in the Ministry of Home Affairs and later Foreign Affairs.

Nkiwane, 53, is a lawyer by profession and is currently the Executive Dean of the Herbert Chitepo Law School at the Great Zimbabwe University.

Kadzima, 58, is the Provincial Bishop for Manicaland African Apostolic Church and also a former MP for Nyanga.
