FIVE university students have come up with a smart media platform called Wagwan where tertiary students from across Zimbabwe can meet and exchange ideas. The platform was founded by 21-year-old William Madudike, a final year engineering student at the University of Zimbabwe. Mr Madudike also founded 2fish, an application which connects service
providers with clients.
He said Wagwan was a smart media platform for college students and career driven youths to access local and international opportunities and relevant information. He said he and his colleagues were targeting tertiary students from across the country.
“We are targeting any young person who is pursuing his/her career at any college or university in Zimbabwe studying any programme or course,” said Mr Madudike. He said Wagwan will come first as an application and later as a website. Mr Madudike said the platform will also offer opportunities for graduates.
“Our aim is to make it easy for students to access jobs, we also want to assist graduates who have been looking for jobs but haven’t got any because of the economic challenges the country is facing,” said Mr Madudike.
Organisations and companies across Zimbabwe can also advertise vacancies and volunteer opportunities on the website.
