MANY local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are struggling to balance business growth with increasingly complex operational and regulatory compliance requirements, prompting the launch of a new integrated digital solution aimed at easing the burden while improving productivity.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zimbabwe, a business of Cassava Technologies, has introduced SME Bundles that combine connectivity, productivity and compliance tools under a single subscription package, targeting a sector that contributes more than 60 percent to Gross Domestic Product and accounts for over 70 percent of national employment.
The company said many SMEs continue to face challenges in managing compliance obligations while trying to expand their operations, often relying on multiple service providers for connectivity, business applications and fiscalisation systems.
At the centre of the new offering is Liquid POS, a cloud-based fiscalisation platform integrated into the package.
The system automatically records and reports transactions, updates inventory in real time and maintains financial records without the need for manual reconciliation, reducing the administrative burden on business owners.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zimbabwe chief executive officer Ms Lorreta Songola said SMEs remained critical to the country’s economy but were increasingly confronted by operational and compliance demands.
“SMEs account for more than 60 percent of Zimbabwe’s GDP, over 70 percent of national employment and have an enormous potential to drive innovation and economic growth,” she said. “Yet many business owners still face the challenge of balancing this growth with increasingly complex operational and compliance requirements.
“Our SME Bundles make it easier to stay compliant, improve productivity and focus on serving customers and growing their business. By removing technology complexity, we’re helping Zimbabwean SMEs focus on providing better services to their customers, become more resilient, competitive and ready for long-term growth.”
The packages also include fibre connectivity, Microsoft 365 applications and cloud backup services, giving businesses access to enterprise-grade digital tools that would ordinarily require significant capital investment.
According to the company, the integrated approach reduces the need for SMEs to manage multiple suppliers and systems, helping minimise errors and improve efficiency.
The bundles are available on a monthly subscription basis, allowing businesses to move between packages as their requirements change without renegotiating separate contracts.
Liquid said the initiative aligns with its broader vision of supporting a digitally connected future while making advanced business technologies more accessible to smaller enterprises.
The launch comes at a time when the country is accelerating digital transformation across key sectors of the economy, with businesses increasingly adopting technology-driven solutions to improve competitiveness, strengthen compliance and enhance customer service.
The company believes simplifying access to digital tools will help SMEs modernise operations, improve resilience and position themselves for long-term growth.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies is part of Cassava Technologies, which operates in more than 40 markets across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
The company has established one of Africa’s largest digital infrastructure networks, spanning more than 116 000km of fibre broadband and satellite connectivity.
