Sniper threatens to bring Hustlers down

Entertainment Reporter
DANCEHALL artiste Donald “Sniper Storm” Chirisa is expected to perform in Bulawayo at the Hustlers Road to Fame show tonight.
The General is riding high on the local charts with his song Wainira Musoja and is expected to give a good performance at the ongoing event.
Also performing at the show will be local dancehall artistes Centre Party and Lion King.
Sniper said fans should look forward to a breathtaking act as he has not been to Bulawayo since the launch of his album Love Yemusoja.
“I have a number of new acts that Bulawayo will love. I am here to make my fans happy,” Sniper said.

He said he salutes Bulawayo and loves the fans because they had helped make him into “the general” of dancehall music.
Hustlers’ entertainment manager Simon Gama said the Road to Fame competition is meant to give rising Bulawayo artistes a chance to rub shoulders with established musicians such as Sniper.

“Sniper will not be the last performer… soon it will be Winky Dee, Shinsoman, Killah T and ExQ among others. Fans should look forward to good entertainment at these shows,” he said.

Also known as Musoja, Sniper is one of the pioneers of the urban groove genre after featuring on the hit song Tauyanaye by David Chifunyise in 2000.

His debut single Gede came two years later and in 2009 he released Ndakabata Mic. The album, which has hit songs One Room, Ndakabata Mic, Bhinya and Muno (Hazvisi bho), made him a household name.

Ndakabata Mic was the first successful hard core dancehall album which then set the standards on the local ragga scene in music production and performance.

Road to Fame began last Friday with DJs and up-and-coming dancehall musicians battling it out.
