Bulawayo-based rising gospel star Snowy, is set to realise a dream as he eyes a collaboration with South African gospel icon, Dumi Mkokstad.
This potential partnership was sparked during the recent Spirit of Praise Volume 10 concert held at the Harvest House International Conference Centre in Bulawayo, where Mkokstad expressed his admiration for Snowy’s talent and his desire to work with the budding artiste.
At the concert, Snowy delivered an electrifying performance, captivating the audience and earning praises from Mkokstad. Earlier that day, Snowy launched his second live DVD recording, Psalms of Praise, at the Word of Life Auditorium in Bulawayo.
The album features soul-stirring tracks, Uyangimangaza, Jehovah Ndimambo, Ndimi Moga, Ngcwele, Less of Me, Kuzohlatshelwa Khona, Ekhaya Ezulwini, Ngiswelimilomo Ezinkulungwane and Hlala Kuye.
In an interview, Snowy said discussions are ongoing with Mkokstad’s management team.
“We’re in talks about collaborating on one of my songs, Sagila Sami. However, if he has a different idea, we’re open to going his way. I’m eagerly waiting to hear back from his team,” said Snowy.
Snowy shared how surreal the experience was, recalling how he had wished for a simple handshake and photo with Mkokstad before the concert.
“Amazingly, God works in mysterious ways. After my performance, Mkokstad sought me out and said, ‘Dude, you’re an amazing artiste, a superstar. I genuinely believe we need to work on something together, and we must do it soon because people are expectant.’ It was a dream come true,” he said.
Snowy is humbled by the opportunity and inspired to continue his journey toward becoming a gospel superstar.
“This moment has left me speechless. Such encouragement from someone like Dumi Mkokstad fuels my determination to keep growing in my craft. I trust that God will guide this collaboration to fruition,” he added.
