THE Bulawayo City Council (BCC) economic development officer, Kholisani Moyo has welcomed Sol Campbell’s visit to the city, describing it as good for the effectiveness of their sports tourism economy drive.

“We have read a story about Sol Campbell, a great defender in England who is in the city, from an economic point of view it is a good development in line with our sports tourism economy initiative,” said Moyo.

He believes that Bulawayo stands a good chance of generating revenue through sports tours and says BCC is committed to supporting such initiatives.

Moyo said he hopes other sporting codes apart from football will take the chance to meet and discuss with the 73 caps former England defender who starred for Arsenal, lining up with great players such as Thierry Henry.

Campbell is in the country accompanying his daughter, who is taking part in an International Tennis Federation tournament at Bulawayo Country Club.
