A military husband and wife couple has been very explosive to a point that the latter reported her abusive husband to the police.

Michelle Chitekuteku couldnat roll with the punches unleashed by her husband Gift Zivave who allegedly becomes violent whenever he smokes dagga. Their relationship has become sour to an extent that she resolved to leave their matrimonial home.

a?I am customarily married to Gift Zivave and our marriage still subsists. He is violent and has beaten me up on several occasions the latest being on 9 June after I asked him why he was taking my treasured blanket for special occasions to use in the bush where he has been deployed.

a?He always comes home drunk and intoxicated with dagga. If I try to reprimand him he becomes violent and is also not financially supporting the family,a? said Chitekuteku.

She further said her husband had numerous girlfriends adding that he should be barred from coming to where she is now staying.

In response, Zivave dismissed the abuse allegations his wife levelled against him.

a?I do not assault her as she has alleged. I would be simply telling her that I am against her conduct,a? said Zivave without elaborating how his wife was conducting herself.

In his ruling presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova however, granted Chitekuteku the protection order in which he ordered her husband not to physically assault her and go to her place.

Their army ranks were not mentioned in court. .
