Soloist Steve Chikoti makes a welcome return tomorrow at ZimCafe Restaurant where he will serenade music lovers with his sing-along tracks. Affectionately known to his fans as Bra Steve, Chikoti will be performing before a mature audience.
The soft-spoken Chikoti, famous for his humour and comedy in song, enjoys poking fun whenever he is on stage.
The Mutare-based crooner is expected to churn out all his hits from the three albums — “Wega”, “Nzendo (Journey)” and “Live at Alliance Française”.
“Fans should come in their numbers at the show and hopefully they will have a great time,” Chikoti said.
He said his music revolves on everyday life issues as well as social commentary, songs such as “Nzendo (Journey)”, “Marunjeya” and “Ngoma Yerusununguko” show his great artistry in penning songs that have a wider appeal.
What started off as a one-off show has turned into a weekly affair for Chikoti who has been performing at the joint for the past three weeks at the joint.
He starts his show at 7pm playing laid-back songs while patrons enjoy their dinner and then he takes it up with up-tempo songs for those who love to dance.
He engages the crowd by inviting them to sing along making it an inclusive show.
After Chikoti, music lovers will go into overdrive with old skool music on the house.
Elsewhere at ZimCafe, it will be non-stop music with DJs on rotation until the wee hours of the morning.
Isaac Neshamba aka F&B guru of ZimCafe said both the hotel and the restaurant will be making breakfast during the day and night.
“We have launched a new menu whereby those who want to be served breakfast in the afternoon or in the evening will be able to get it.
“We are not restricting breakfast to just in the morning. This is now the trend the world over.
“We now have a wide selection of traditional dishes we have hanga, road runners, tsuro, musoro wemombe, tongue, trotters and lamb and others.
The restaurant is open daily from 12.30pm until 10.00pm.
“On our Western dishes we now offer the famous pork chops, T-bone, marinated chicken and pastas and others,” he said.
