Although yet to reach their peak this present season that resumes next weekend after the 2013 African Nations Cup finals, the club were back-to-back league winners after winning in the 2007-8 season, 2008-9 season with their last win in the 2009-10 season.
Amin, a holder of a Level Four coaching certificate, was appointed to the Highlanders technical structures as welfare manager by then chairman, Themba Ndlela and together with his colleagues on the bench, Kelvin Kaindu, Bekithemba Ndlovu and Tembo Chuma led the club to a historic, 23-match unbeaten run that saw them finish second on the Castle Lager Premiership standings behind eventual winners Dynamos.
Like, Ndlovu and Tembo, Amin’s contract expired at the end of December last year but it was not renewed.
Before his appointment as Highlanders manager, Amin was the owner and coach of Zifa Bulawayo Division Two outfit, Luveve Big 11.
He has also been Zimbabwe National Youth Games Bulawayo province boys’ soccer team coach that won silver medals on two occasions.
