DYNAMOS coach Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe has revealed that some of his players were left traumatised by the violence which erupted the last time they were in Bulawayo to play Highlanders.

The two giants meet in the first game of their new campaign at Barbourfields on Sunday.

“We have youngsters in the team who, after what happened the last time that we played Highlanders, were left a bit traumatised,” he said.

“So, as part of preparations for this match, we have to make sure they are psychologically fit…it will not be easy, it is usually a high tempo game and tempers often flare but we are ready and in it to win.

“We also need to bring our A-game, there is no room for complacency in such fixtures so we are doing our best to ensure that we approach the match in our best possible state.

“That’s a big game and as Dynamos we are very prepared for it, we are looking to collect maximum points, that is our target.”

Mangombe feels his CV is inferior to that of his Highlanders counterpart, Kelvin Kaindu.

Not only is the 40-year old gaffer six years younger than his Bosso counterpart but their coaching achievements are also worlds apart.

“Yes, CVs may not be at par but we are not going to read much into that, this is a game of two giants and whoever is best on that day will win,” said Mangombe.

“I may be an underdog, based on my CV but we have a vision of what we want and where we are headed to as a club and we are going to stick to that.”

Interestingly during his first stint at Highlanders, Kaindu never defeated Dynamos.
