OUTSPOKEN former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has laid bare one of the most emotionally challenging episodes of his personal life, revealing that DNA tests have shown that some of the children he has been raising are not biologically his, even as he continues to care for them.
Mliswa, who is known for his large family and public candour, told the Zigo Channel in a candid interview that he has fathered around 18 children with different women, a fact he has publicly acknowledged in the past.
“I have done DNA on some of my children, some of them are not mine, but I look after them,” Mliswa said, his voice thick with emotion.
“It’s the most emotional part that I have to tell you. I have tears, but I love the kids, and I look after them because they are innocent. It is a hard one for me.”
Despite the shock that came with learning that some of the children might not be biologically his, Mliswa said he has made peace with the situation, at least in terms of his responsibilities as a caregiver.
When pressed on whether the children in question are aware of the DNA findings, the former legislator was firm that they do not know and that he will not be disclosing the information to them.
“They don’t know, and I won’t tell them,” he said.
