A Harare man yesterday apologised and pleaded for forgiveness in court for insulting his mother.

Lauren Chamunyanga was taken to court by his mother, Keti Chamunyanga, who was seeking a peace order against him for being abusive.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted her the protection order.

Keti told the court that Lauren he is always insulting her and his siblings.

In response, Lauren apologised to his mother and the court.

She is telling the truth; I have been insulting her. I am asking for forgiveness, please forgive me,” he said.

Asked by magistrate Chibindi if she still wanted her son barred from visiting her place of residence as she stated in court papers, Keti said she was emotional when she wrote them.

“I wrote it when I was angry and I would like to give him a chance since he is apologising,” she said.

Lauren was ordered not to insult or harass his mother.
