Son leaves father for dead accusing him of witchcraft

A 40-YEAR-OLD man from Binga was caged for assaulting his 69-year -old father, accusing him of witchcraft.

In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said in December 2024 an argument at the family homestead turned violent.

Clement Manyungwa allegedly struck Michael Siluwe, with a wooden chair before pulling out a machete and slashing him on the head. The attack left the elder Siluwe with a double fracture on his arm and a deep head wound.

Manyungwa appeared at Hwange Magistrates’ Court on an attempted murder charge and was remanded to 30 Jan 2025.
