Zimdancehall artiste Souljah Love was yesterday morning involved in a nasty car accident a few kilometres from Gweru along the Harare-Bulawayo highway that left three of his band members admitted at Gweru Provincial Hospital.Dr Fabian Mashingaidze, the Gweru Provincial Hospital superintendent, confirmed the incident which happened at Chiwundura turnoff.  He said Souljah Love was treated for minor head injuries and discharged.

He said the accident was caused by a tyre burst which saw the vehicle in which Souljah Love was travelling, veering off the road and rolling once.
Dr Mashingaidze said they treated four patients and discharged them while three others were still admitted at the health institution.

“There was a road traffic accident in the morning at Chiwundura turnoff along the Harare-Bulawayo highway which left Soul Musaka and six other people injured.

“Some were treated and discharged while three others are still admitted,” said Dr Mashingaidze.

When The Chronicle visited the hospital, Souljah Love was said to have left after receiving treatment.

Three patients believed to be members of his band, Takundwa Chimuchenga, Walter Sakala and Tatenda Madoro were still admitted receiving treatment for various injuries.

Dr Mashingaidze, however, said their injuries were not life threatening. This is the third time Souljah Love has been involved in a car accident in about a year.

The Mbare-bred chanter was meant to perform at a show in Victoria Falls at the weekend but is unlikely to make it.
