ZIMBABWE-South Korea relations continue to deepen after the latter recently donated medical equipment valued at US$110 000 to strengthen health facilities in the City of Bulawayo.
The donation, which will be distributed in the coming months, will provide essential medical tools to hospitals and clinics across the city, supporting healthcare workers and improving services for patients, particularly in marginalised communities.
South Korea Ambassador Jae-Kyung Park announced the donation after meeting with the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Judith Ncube, and the Mayor of Bulawayo, Councillor David Coltart, last Saturday.
Ambassador Park said the gesture was intended to ensure that more people can access quality medical services.
“Good health builds strong families and communities. By standing with Bulawayo, the Republic of Korea hopes to help strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure that more people can access quality medical services,” Ambassador Park said.
Both Minister Ncube and Councillor Coltart welcomed the pledge, describing it as a timely and valuable contribution to the city’s health system and a reflection of the growing friendship between the two countries, grounded in solidarity, health, and community development.
