NINE Premier Soccer League clubs from the Southern Region on Tuesday took part in the Zimbabwe Connect workshop that saw club representatives being taught about the new registration platform.

Zimbabwe Connect, a new Transfer Matching System (TMS), derived from the Federation of International Football Associationsa FIFA Connect, became operational late last month.

League returnees Bantu Rovers, Rahman Gumbo- mentored Chicken Inn, Tsholotsho, Hwange, Bulawayo giants Highlanders, Kelvin Kainduas How Mine, seasoned campaigners Chapungu and Zvishavane-based duo of FC Platinum and Shabanie Mine were all represented at the workshop which was facilitated by ZIFAas TMS manager, Timothy Mazhindu and PSLas competitions manager Elisha Mandireva.

The new registration platform allows for the creation of a database of not only players, but also referees, club officials and everyone else involved in football.

Above all the benefits of the global stakeholder database, it is expected to help inAA curbing age cheating and protecting minors.

According to the local football mother bodyas official website, ZIFA will conduct further training workshops for other stakeholders in order to ensure a smooth transition from Licence Plus, the earlier player registration system.
