THE fans are trickling back to the domestic Premiership matches and ZPC Kariba coach, Darlington Dodo, can only feel for his team’s supporters.
His club have not played at home at Nyamhunga this season with their matches having been shifted to Harare.
It’s something that has been taking a toll on his players and he also feels for their fans.
They are training in Kariba and traveling all the way to Harare to host their home matches at National Sports Stadium .
The driving distance between Harare and Kariba is more than 300km.
Their next game is against Manica Diamonds.
“It’s tough for the team not to use Nyamhunga as it is our fortress,” said Dodo.
“We are hoping it will be approved as soon as possible.
“As we keep on travelling, the boys will suffer from fatigue and end up not performing.”
He feels if they were playing at home, they would have a huge fan base behind them.
They have been playing an entertaining brand of football.
“We have been encouraging the boys to enjoy themselves on the field of play.
“But, emphasis has been on them not losing the concept of getting results.
“It’s always good to play entertaining football as it guarantees the return of fans. “Fans always look out for attractive football and having them around brings the best out of the players.
“With the way we are playing, if we were using our usual home ground, the stadium would be full and a major boost for the team to get the three points.
“But, we are grateful to the travelling fans who are behind the boys.”
Dodo said his focus this weekend was on getting three points.
“We are approaching all our games with a positive mind.
“We will be looking for three points though in football three results are always at stake.
“You lose, win or draw though our major focus is to win.
“We have been working on the finishing aspect of our game in training.
“We are trying to get the guys to convert most of the chances that come our way.
“In the past games we have won with a one-goal margin but we are trying to score more goals which will see us winning with better margins.”
