‘Spare a thought for Teclar’

Dr Zobha openly lashed out at Teclar live on his Breakfast Show.
Teclar, who is a single mother, broke the BBA record when she was voted out of the reality TV show after a random nomination draw was conducted minutes after she stepped into the Big Brother house.
“Quite honestly, I feel that the media haven’t been fair on her after criticising her left, right and centre for something which she had no control over. She didn’t expect to leave that early and she was really disturbed,” Tendai, the family spokesperson, said.
She denied that whatever viewers saw or thought about Teclar wasn’t the real her.
“Believe you me, that wasn’t Teclar we know at home. Had she been given enough time she and Maneta could have partied up a storm because she is full of energy and humour. If you asked me about her stay in the house I would tell you that Teclar is more funr and exciting than most housemates,” Tendai said.
She said the negative reports in the Press had affected Teclar who had hoped for the best during her stint in the Big Brother StarGame.
“What many people didn’t seem to realise was that Teclar had made sacrifices. She had paid for her daughter Maxim’s school fees and made sure she was catered for during her stay in the house.
“It was Maneta who wanted her to take part in the Big Brother and like a loving sister she did that. But what did she get from the Press, she got a bashing from all angles that she was the worst Zimbabwean performer in Big Brother. Do you think people will see her in a positive light or even open opportunities for her?
“She has been through a lot and she is making sure that she looks after her daughter, who is doing extremely well in school,” she said.
Teclar sneaked back home from South Africa and shied away from the media. Only a few of her fans turned up at the Harare International Airport to welcome her.
