SPARTANS swimming club put up an impressive performance at the Ecocash National Sprint Gala held over the weekend to defend their title.

The inter-club meet is the first national event of the season and more than 20 clubs had their swimmers taking part at Bulawayo City Pool.

Spartans with one of the biggest teams at the event emerged tops when accumulating a combined team score of 677.

Vikings from Harare as well were second with a combined team score of 346.5.

Stingrays Swimming Academy from Bulawayo amassed 314 points to complete the top three.
