HARARE-based spin masters, Spin City left fans stunned with their car spinning skills at the car spinning and burnout event at Breedon Everard in Bulawayo on Saturday afternoon. With a record crowd in attendance, the stage was well set for the spin masters to entertain and they did not disappoint.
The show, however, started three hours late as Spin City complained of the hot weather and DJs seized the opportunity to keep the audience on their feet with some entertaining melodies.
On the turntables were DJ Beks, Brian “The Scratch Master”, Herbal T, Witch Doka who took turns to entertain the crowd. As soon as temperatures cooled, Spin City showed why they are regarded as on one of the best spin teams in the country.
Team members Ike, Goofa, Shannon, Mourice, Fat Cat, Spin Kid, Kunnie and Gorgy easily won the hearts of locals with their breathtaking car spinning techniques.
Goofa was the crowd favourite with his first attempt on the stage showcasing eye catching moves which included jumping out of the car and leaving the car spinning without a driver.
“Do these guys even practise this and how do they practise?” asked Joice Johnson a fan.
Local representatives, Darren Pragji, Haden and Dan Roussau tried their best to give performances at par with the antics of the Harare team.
Six cars were showcasing and a total of 12 tyres were burnt out. Towards the end of the show, drivers were asked to show off with their subwoofers.
The well organised event went a gear up with the after party which blew fans off their feet with some good music from the turntables.
Event co-ordinator Zane Shah said the event was a major success and was happy at the turnout.
“The sport is growing and today we had a bigger attendance than in previous shows. We will be having other events in November and we anticipate another good show,” he said.
A number of fans encouraged organisers to come up with similar events in the future saying Saturday’s show was a success.
“I am happy with what I saw here and I had a good time with my family. We need more of this in Bulawayo and coming here I did not know what to expect but wanted my family to see the fast cars.
In the end I was also entertained and I will keep attending such events in the future,” said Brian Mlilo.
