Sports club robbers thrown behind bars

TWO Bulawayo men who broke into Archers Sports Club and stole an assortment of alcoholic beverages have been sentenced to two years by a city magistrate.

Kudakwashe Mwazha and Daniel Moyo broke into the sports club about two weeks ago and got away with five crates of beer, an assortment of wines and potato chips.

Their luck however, ran out when police used sniffer dogs to track them. They were found in a bushy area near the night club where some of their friends were enjoying the drinks.

The accused were sentenced to 24 months in prison, three months were suspended on condition that they restitute the night club of $106.

They will however, serve 27 months after some months suspended for earlier conviction were brought into effect.
