Sports Commission congratulates Zim cricket team

cricketttThe Sport and Recreation Commission Board, Director General, Management and Staff are delighted by Zimbabwe cricket team’s victory over Australia.
This is the tonic that the nation has been waiting for after such a long time. Our victory vindicates the development programme that the Zimbabwe Cricket embarked on a few years ago.

The Sport and Recreation Commission is encouraged by this result and hopes that the development partners/ sponsors will seize the opportunity to recommit themselves to the development of this sport and in the interest of achieving consistency in the performance of the team.

The tours in both cricket and darts add impetus to sports tourism and thus helping to project our beautiful country as a preferred tourist destination of choice.

The SRC would like to extend their hearty congratulations to the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe for managing to host African Union Sports Council Region V 27th bi annual Darts championships tournament in Harare and for emerging as the victors of the tournament over the weekend.

The tournament brought together seven countries — Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

Team Zimbabwe’s victory is indeed a testimony that Zimbabwe is a regional darts powerhouse and the Sport and Recreation Commission is encouraged by the commitment to the development of the sport that the NDAZ has consistently demonstrated.

Once again the SRC would like to register its appreciation to both the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Cricket for raising our flag high. — Sports Commission
