WINTER weather definitely calls for a warm and cosy room.
Ladies, it is that time of the year where you need to protect your family from cold weather. Make sure that your home is weather resistant by creating a warm ambience around them.
Surround your space with rich dark brown panelling, textured carpeting and soft coloured drapery.
A wall full of books and a pair of soft leather chairs, seated right in front of a deafening fire are incredibly inviting.
Warm metal for your kitchen is recommended during this time of the year. The warmth of copper, bronze, brass or rose gold can instantly warm up a cold room. If your home needs something warm, try adding some copper to your space especially in the kitchen.
Lights add warmth to your home . . . all you need is the right lighting. Even though the bulbs are exposed, their light bounces off of warm metal, which casts a nice light in the space.
Having wood in your home makes your space look expensive, inviting and home. Wood floors are a common way to introduce a new design element to a home, so are wood beams, doors or window trims. An all wood wall makes a really strong statement. They add warmth as well as uniqueness.
A curtain with strong material brings warmth into your house especially during the night when they are closed. They act as an insulation and keep warmth in the room. Make sure that you do not have leakages or gaps so that the warm air stays inside and cold air stays outside to reduce condensation.
Another trick is to hang the curtains all the way across the walls to add visual interests and create a cosy with bulky material. If you are afraid of having a dark room, lighten it up by using light and neutral colours as well as great lighting. Consider installing warm hues that mimic nature and fabrics that flow and make the room feel comfortable.
