Spurs complete Wanyama deal

LONDON — Tottenham Hotspur have completed the £11million signing of Southampton star Victor Wanyama. The midfielder has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the north Londoners to hook up again with former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino. Wanyama told African website www.soka25east.com: “It is a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team.

“I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together. I will always have a fond place for them in my heart.”

The 24-year-old arrived at St Mary’s from Celtic in July 2013 and had refrained from agreeing a new deal beyond the end of next season.

Wanyama rejected late interest from champions Leicester to hold out for his dream move to Spurs, as MirrorFootball reported last week.
