Spurs ‘to double Bale’s wages’

Tottenham will offer Gareth Bale the chance to double his wages should he decide to stay at White Hart Lane next season, according to AS.
And AS claims that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is keen to meet Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in London this weekend to discuss Bale’s future, following his side’s pre-season opener against Bournemouth tomorrow. After missing out on Neymar to Barcelona this summer, Perez is more determined than ever to bring the former Southampton man to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and partner him in attack with Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, although last season’s PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year has given no public guarantees that he will be staying in North London, the forward, who scored 21 league goals last term, has not expressed a desire to leave either.

And AS reports that in a bid to ward off interest from Madrid, Levy is ready to offer Bale £150 000-a-week —twice his current salary. — ESPN.
