SPORTS Commission director for sport development Joseph Muchechetere yesterday said they are still in the process of making recommendations for the appointment of interim committees for three national associations whose executives were suspended last month. The Zimbabwe Handball Federation, Zimbabwe Wushu Federation and Zimbabwe Boxing Federation had their executives suspended for two years for non-compliance.
The three were part of seven national associations that were sanctioned for failing to comply with the provisions of the Sports Commission’s Act. Muchechetere said they have made some recommendations for potential candidates for the three associations.
“The position is that the board has finalised its report and the recommended names have been submitted to the minister for the appointment of the interim committee for boxing. “We are also waiting for next week for the board to make a decision on the appointment of the interim committees for wushu and handball.
