THE Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) in partnership with the Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) Sports Academy will hold the second edition of the National Women in Sport

Conference at a Harare hotel on November 16.
The conference is meant to promote the involvement of women in sport and recreation as well as facilitating a platform to create opportunities for women to share ideas and best practices.

The conference will run under the theme “Let them lead and tell their story”.

SRC human capital development and administration manager, Sheila Gwatidzo said the conference is expected to reach out to women in sports associations, local authorities, tertiary institutions, government departments, corporate, media and other strategic sport stakeholders involved in sports and recreation around the country.

“The objectives of this conference are to mentor women on a number of topical issues affecting women in sport and recreation as well as creating networking opportunities for women in sports. It will also afford women opportunities to share experiences and learn from each other and provide a platform to stimulate and sustain development for women through sports,” said Gwatidzo.

The standard conference package is pegged at $100 per person, which will cover conference fees, branded tokens and certificates.

The SRC held its first ever women in sport conference last year in September.
