Sri Lanka take ODI series lead

Lord’s here yesterday as the tourists took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Sri Lanka, chasing 247 to win, finished on 249 for four. Chandimal ended the match with 10 balls to spare by striking a four off seamer James Anderson.
The 21-year-old Chandimal’s hundred was his second in just six matches at this level. England’s total of 246 for seven, which featured captain Alastair Cook’s career-best 119, never looked enough.
That score was put into perspective by a Sri Lankan second-wicket stand of 112 between Chandimal and veteran opener Mahela Jayawardene, who made 79.
Sri Lanka seamers Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal, as well as leg-spinner Jeevan Mendis, all took two wickets each.
The series continues with a day/night match at Trent Bridge tomorrow.
