ST Albert’s High School Headmaster Innocent Kamba has attributed the school’s success to the teamwork and partnership between the school administration, teachers, parents and students.

The school recently hosted its prize giving day ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students.

In his speech the headmaster highlighted the school’s achievements, including a significant improvement in the 2024 O-Level examinations, with a pass rate of 95%.

The school’s A-Level performance was equally impressive, with a 100% pass rate in 2024.

Nationally, the 2024 O-Level pass rate reached a 40-year high of 33,19% up from 29.41% in 2023, reflecting broader improvements in Zimbabwe’s education system.

St Alberts High School outperformed the national O-Level leverage demonstrating institutional resilience and academic focus.

The school’s A-Level performance remained stable, positioning it firmly in the upper tier of Zimbabwean schools. Continued growth in pass rates aligns with national trends driven by curriculum reforms and enhanced educational standards.

“It is my submission that these impressive results are a culmination of team effort and partnership by the school Administration, the Responsible Authority, MOPSE, the parents, community, teachers, support staff and the pupils themselves who have remained dedicated, focused and committed.

“At St Albert’s High School, we don’t just teach subjects, we build character. Despite doing well in other endeavours, the school faced a few disciplinary challenges such as the smuggling of phones and love affairs

“It is our fervent hope that the school will continue to acquit itself favourably on the academic scene in order to continue to be synonymous with academic excellence annually. Overall pass rate is impressive, our thrust is to improve on the quality of results and aim for the ‘A’ gallow.”

Kamba said plans are underway to introduce Cambridge exams, and efforts are being made to improve ICT infrastructure, including the installation of a 10kv solar system and the procurement of new desktops and laptops.

We intend to introduce Cambridge exams to run side by side with ZIMSEC.

The programme is still on course as per wish of the Responsible Authority.

We have embarked on refurbishing our laboratories and specialist rooms to meet the requirements.

The guest of honour, Tafadzwa Sandura, representing Gramsol, praised the students for their hard work, dedication, and passion, which had earned them accolades.

“Every student who has worked hard, improved, or pushed boundaries deserves recognition,” Sandura said.

“Cherish this moment and continue striving for greatness.”

In a motivational message, Sandura encouraged students to embrace challenges, innovate, and collaborate, while cultivating empathy, kindness, and compassion.

“Your education unlocks opportunities, seize them boldly.”

The chairperson Wunganayi Masenda pledged to continue working with the school administration, teachers, and parents to ensure the students receive the best possible education.

“As the school development committee, our vision is to create a conducive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, promotes social responsibility, and nurtures the holistic development of our students, we are committed to work with the school administration, teachers and parents to ensure that our students receive the best possible education.”
