St Faith’s quiz team seeks tourney sponsorship

A team of St Faith’s High School students is looking for businesses and individuals willing to serve as sponsors to help cover the cost of competing in the World Series Quiz Competition to be held in South Africa later this year.

Last year the Rusape – based school sailed through the regional quiz competitions and came 5th out of 32 Sadc high schools that participated at this event which was held in Midrand.

“Our St Faith’s High School team qualified for the world series and we are appealing for assistance from both individuals and corporate sponsors,” said Mr Matthews Chimba, a teacher in charge of the quiz team.

“We need about $2 990 to cover transport, accommodation, regalia and food for four students and myself. We want our school quiz club to participate at the World Series Schools Quiz Competitions which will be held in Midrand, South Africa, from December 4 to 13 this year.”

The school won an excellence award and earned a slot in the world series championships.

St Faith’s High School came first in the Zimbabwe National High School Quiz Competitions that were held at Prince Edward High School last November.

This is the first time it has proceeded to represent the country at the World Series Quiz Competitions.
