St John’s High School Chikwaka has once again underlined its growing reputation as one of the country’s academic powerhouses after recording a 100 percent pass rate in the November 2025 ZIMSEC A-Level examinations, an achievement that surpasses its already impressive performance last year.
The school described the results as a product of “unwavering dedication, unrelenting passion and unshakable commitment to academic excellence,” noting that the latest outcome has firmly “etched its name in the annals of distinction” and cemented its position as a beacon of scholastic brilliance.
Beyond the headline pass rate, the depth of the performance stood out.
Six candidates attained an impressive 20 points, while a total of 40 learners scored 15 points and above.
One learner achieved 18 points, two scored 17 points, one attained 16 points, and a remarkable 30 candidates finished with 15 points.
In a communique, school authorities were quick to stress that the achievement was not accidental.
“The triumph is not a solitary miracle; it is the culmination of visionary leadership, indefatigable dedication and relentless collaboration,” the statement read.
At the centre of that leadership is the school head Mr Brian Mandikutse, who was credited for steering the school’s academic vision.
According to the statement, his “strategic foresight, unwavering resolve and inspirational presence have catalysed an environment where brilliance thrives.”
Teachers and support staff were also singled out for praise, with the school acknowledging the “tireless mentorship, innovative pedagogy and unyielding commitment” that helped turn hard work into tangible results.
“To every educator who sculpted the minds, every administrator who fortified systems and every staff member who nurtured the ethos of excellence, this victory is much yours as it is the students,” the statement said.
Speaking after the release of the results, Mr Mandikutse expressed deep satisfaction with the performance but maintained that the school would not rest on its laurels.
He noted that while the results were pleasing, “there is always room for improvement,” pointing to vigorous revision timetables and structured study programmes as key contributors to the class of 2025’s success.
As the Anglican Church-run institution celebrates alongside parents and the surrounding Chikwaka community, the results have reinforced St John’s High School’s standing as a centre of academic excellence.
