Mufaro Chareka, the captain of St John’s Prep, was the first player to score a try in the first minute of the match before Dustin Pike converted.
A Tristan Evans try and a penalty from eighth man, Simba Gombo, made it 17-0 by half time.
Eaglesvale tried to come back after half-time and scored a try but they failed to keep the momentum.
Evans scored another try before Gombo converted to make it 24-5 for the hosts.
Cameroon Butler then hammered home a penalty.
Highlands where the first school to win the festival in 2004 when it was founded by Bobby Odilo who used to be the first team’s rugby coach at Highlands Primary School.
He is now a sports teacher at Hellenic.
From 2005 to 2007 St John’s Prep won the festival before Gateway triumphed in 2008.
However St John’s Prep have been dominant since 2009.
St John’s skipper Chareka was a happy boy.
“I am very glad that we won the festival, we played as a team and we made sure that we followed what we were taught by coach Ryan Barbour,” said Chareka. Douglas Trivella, the Hellenic coach, said his team was still developing.
