ST Matthias Tsonzo High principal — Father Loveshaw Muponde — who has made a profound impact on learners by identifying, nurturing and promoting their musical talents, is making waves on the social media platform — YouTube.
With his song “Mweya Vangu Inzwa Tenzi” the scintillating and soul-soothing track, which is backed by learners at the institution, is almost reaching three million views on YouTube.
Apparently, Muponde’s dedication to foster creativity and providing opportunities for growth has been truly remarkable.
In an interview, Muponde said: “One notable achievement in my line of work in music is where I have managed to record tracks featuring some of the learners. This, not only showcases their talents but also provides them with valuable experience in the music industry.
“Currently, I am collaborating with Ruvarashe, a former learner who excelled as a lead vocalist. Ruvarashe’s project is likely to be a significant undertaking, and my involvement further demonstrates my commitment to support the artistic development of my learners even after they leave school.”
Father Muponde talked about the value of extramural activities in schools.
“My approach to education goes beyond academics, focusing on the holistic development of my learners. By recognising and cultivating their talents, I empower them to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to their community.
“The song “Mweya Vangu Inzwa Tenzi”, which is reaching almost three million views on YouTube, clearly shows that our music has resonated with a wide audience. My role as the Archdeacon of Mutasa Archdeaconry also highlights my spiritual leadership and influence in the community.
“As an educator and spiritual leader, I have demonstrated a commitment to the holistic development of my learners, going beyond academics to foster their artistic and personal growth.
“I am elated that my influence extends beyond the school walls, inspiring a wider audience through music and ministry. I am happy that my work is serving as a testament to the power of creativity, faith, and community,” he said.
